Hawai'i Green Growth convened the 3rd Statewide Measures Meeting on Maui to continue development of shared sustainability indicators to track progress on the Aloha+ Challenge. The group is preparing to launch the Aloha+ Challenge dashboard with sections on clean energy and waste reduction in January 2015. Over 40 statewide, public-private representatives from energy, food, natural resources, waste, smart growth, & green education/jobs participated in this two-day meeting. Maui Sustainability Briefing
August 20th - Maui Tropical Plantation

Hawai‘i Green Growth, County of Maui, & Susty Pacific co-hosted a Sustainability Briefing highlighting local & statewide action in sustainability at the Maui Tropical Plantation on August 20th. Over 150 leaders from Maui and across the state attended the briefing.

Mayor Arakawa provided a brief update on Maui County sustainability initiatives, and group of panelists from renewable energy, local food production, natural resource management, waste reduction, green workforce and education, and culture highlighted progress on Maui in each of the sectors. Hawai'i Green Growth presented an overview of the Aloha+ Challenge, a shared statewide commitment to 2030 sustainability targets, and the Sustainability Measures Start-Up Project, which is developing statewide sustainability indicators to track progress on these targets.
